Christopher Reeves is a Church of England Lower School which was founded with a Trust Deed in 1842. The school is set in the beautiful rural village of Podington in North Bedfordshire. We take children in the September following their fourth birthday and they transfer to Middle School in the September following their ninth birthday. Our catchment area includes Podington, Hinwick and Farndish and, being close to Northamptonshire, we also take children from the surrounding areas including Rushden, Irchester and Wollaston.
We are lucky to have beautiful grounds for our children to enjoy. There is a playground, a large playing field, a Spiritual Garden with pond, and herb, vegetable and flower beds, long grass meadow, woodland area and minibeast corner. The school itself has three classrooms, a Hall and Library.
As a Church school our Christian values are paramount and are reflected in the ethos of the school. Each half term we focus on one of our values (Thankfulness, Compassion, Service, Peace, Hope, Love, Community, Trust, Courage, Justice, Forgiveness) through worship, in class and at other times throughout the day. Our values inform and underpin all policy and practice within the school and adults working in school model these values at all times.
We work closely with the fifteen other lower schools and the Sharnbrook Academy Federation (three Middle Schools and an Upper School). These links provide many opportunities to share expertise, and resources so as to enhance and develop our provision ensuring our children have the best possible start to their education.
